2014 was a year where I didn't get too much work done on my paintings because I decided to initiate a color study. Over time, it was becoming apparent that my palette was somewhat limited, and I was using the same colors over and over again. This observation, coupled with an interest that I am still developing in using my "shapes" style as a sort of macropointilism, made me realize that I needed to do a color study. This study ended up taking well over a year, and resulted in filling 7 3" binders with archived canvas papers. Hopefully one day I will be able to digitize the results of this study and post them here, but for now, suffice it to say that it took a lot of time that I couldn't use painting...
