This collection of photographs runs the spectrum of all things Hawaii. I have tried to consoldate my work in galleries of various themes, so to check them out, click on the link below. I am workign on setting up an ebay store so that prints of these pictures can be purchased online, so if you would like to get ahold of some of these prints, keep an eye out for that. Otherwise, I hope you enjoy the show!
How can you go wrong with your feet dipped into the warm Pacific waters with a nice cool trade wind carressing your face and rusteling the palm trees over your head while the waves lap against the shore? All you need now is a Mai Tai from the Royal Hawaiian Hotel!
Aside from the beaches, there are so many natural wonders that you can explore...waterfalls where cascading streams crash down emerald cliffs...lush mountains...dense tropical jungles...volcanic moonscapes...its all here!
What could be more memorable than arriving in Hawaii to a beautiful lei to wrap around your neck. The smells are just amazing! And everywhere you look, flowers abound and every color imaginable and so many different shapes. Too many, really, to keep track of. I spent a lot of time tracking down different flowers- either in Nature or on the small florists that dot O'ahu- to get these pictures.
Of course, what can be more spectacular than a quiet beach at sunset with the palm trees outlined against a blazing sky?
Another classic of Hawaii: the Rainbow. Although they are plentiful here, they are often difficult to catch in a good situation, and have proven to be my most elusive prey in Hawaii. To get many of these pictures, I took to carying my camera around whenever I was walking or driving around town or the island, and often had to rapidly pull to the side of the road to catch the picture. I remember one from Maui where I got really luck and the rainbow just hovered over an amazing beach for half an hour whlie I shot about six rolls of film covering it. Aside from that, there was one that I could almost touch one day when I was hanging out in Waiamea Bay, but I didn't have my camera- it was one that got away.
The full moon brings out some spectacular scenes in Hawaii, especially when you are far away from Honolulu and the all light up Waikiki (although these are cool as well). I spent several nights during the full moon trying to capture the surreal glow of these Hawaiian nights...
One thing that always amazed me was the urbanity of the city of Honolulu, so many things that, if you've never spent much time here, you jjust dont expect to have in "Paradise". So, I took to doing a photo series of several urban ares of the Metropolis of Honolulu
